A brief update on my test instance of Panoramax (panoramax.desoter.eu)
I was able to integrate the object storage as backend for images! Not sure what’s different but using Scaleway I was able to setup it up, also applying bucket policies so that read is public but for uploading you need to go through the website. It’s strange because analyzing on of the two main public instances I saw they’re using OVH…for sure they have more experience and/or maybe they have some custom “code” to perform some things.
I did submit my basic Helm Chart, the old one with a persistent volume for the pictures, as a merge request to the official Gitlab (https://gitlab.com/panoramax/server/infra/helm/-/merge_requests/1) since I saw it was all still to do and thought I could be of help. The merge request is still pending but I’m sure they have many things on their hands and probably I didn’t respect some contributing rules 😐
If you want to give it a try and help me understand the server usage for this app, please contribute to my instance, you can login with your OSM account! EDIT: I forgot I put a rule to allow only uploading pictures from Lombardia, Italia.
Please be aware that this is a test server and I cannot guarantee an adequate service level, so please don’t delete the pictures after uploading and if you didn’t already, contribute to one of the official federated instances https://panoramax.fr/
