About me

Hello, I’m Alessandro. I work in the IT industry and I’ve been doing so in the past 10 years.

One of my hobbies is…well, developing and when I have enough energy spared from my main job I work on some projects. Mobile apps have always fascinated me, both for the possibility to reach many people and for their ease to use; I started using Bada’s apps (Samsung OS) and, even though they were something very different from what we have now, I was amazed. Android was a turning point for the handheld world and I totally embraced it, trying to learn and keep myself up to date: it wasn’t an easy job but I dedicated many hours to it.

When Kotlin became officially supported by Google for the Android platform I took the opportunity to make a fresh start in the mobile development area. After reaching a good level of confidence I started working on Waretor app with a slow but steady pace.

In the last couple of years I encountered many questions and not so many answers on what the technology should be for the people that use it. I’m speaking about open source software and protocols, right to repair for hardware, sustainability and big techs oligarchy. This led me to discover so many cool things and persons that I would love to spread the word about.

Of course these new views brought me and my way of living and doing things in the tech world to discussion; I sorted out some things but many others will need some more attention and thoughts.

And to conclude this overview of myself, a non-exhaustive list of concepts, projects, companies and more that the world should know about:
